In 2018, two particular meetings implanted the desire in Joseph Schmidt to pursue a career in financial planning. First, he saw a financial advisor help a widow organize her finances after the death of her husband. Later, Joseph sat in a meeting as a financial advisor discussed estate planning with a father of two sons, one of whom suffered from a disability. These experiences demonstrated to Joseph how financial advising can help people in their hardest moments and increase their quality of life. Joseph soon developed a passion to increase his knowledge of financial advising and work toward becoming a Certified Financial Planner™.
To attain the CFP® designation, the CFP® board requires individuals complete classes, pass a rigorous exam, and gain at least two years of experience. Joseph completed his course work at Liberty University and immediately started studying for the CFP® exam. Each day, he studied diligently and used the dream of helping people as motivation. In July 2019, Joseph took and passed the CFP® exam.
In October 2019, Joseph started working for Partners in Financial Planning as an Associate Financial Planner. He serves clients in all stages of life, from young doctors to elderly widows. He enjoys meeting with clients, helping them organize their finances, and giving them clarity and peace. Joseph also loves enabling clients to achieve their goals and devote time to their greatest passions. Joseph feels truly thankful to work alongside other incredible advisors at Partners in Financial Planning to service wonderful clients from around the nation. After two years of serving clients, in October 2021, he completed all the necessary requirements and earned the CFP® designation. Joseph looks forward to continuing to work with clients and contributing to their flourishing.
